Leveling, Stats & Profiles

Configurable message and voice XP with reward roles, multipliers and custom rank cards.

Overview

Sylon turns participation into progress. Members earn XP from messages and real (non-AFK) voice time, level up, and show it off with a rank card. Every rate, multiplier and exemption is yours to set — and none of it can distort the global ladder, which is always computed from raw activity.

How it works

1

Earn

XP accrues from messages and genuine voice activity. Muted, deafened and AFK time never counts.
2

Tune

Set XP per message, per voice minute, cooldowns, daily caps, and give any role or channel its own multiplier.
3

Reward

Grant roles automatically at any level, announce level-ups your way, and let members check progress with /rank.

Key capabilities

Message and voice XP, each switchable on its own
Custom XP rates, cooldowns and daily caps
Per-role and per-channel XP multipliers
Reward roles at any level, stacked or highest-only
Exempt members, roles and channels
Level-up announcements in a channel, by DM, or both — with your own message

Setup

1.Leveling is on by default. Open the Leveling tab to change anything.
2.Adjust the XP rates, or leave them at the defaults that have always been in effect.
3.Add reward roles for the levels you care about, and decide whether earned roles stack.
4.Optionally turn on the level-up announcement and design the rank card.

How it works in detail

How XP is earned

Messages grant XP on a cooldown, so a burst of messages is worth the same as one. Voice grants XP per minute of genuinely active time — muted, deafened and AFK time never counts. A daily cap limits how much one member can earn per day.

Multipliers

Any role or channel can be worth more or less than the base rate. The highest matching role multiplier wins rather than compounding, so three boosted roles do not become eight times the XP. The channel multiplier then applies on top, and a channel with no multiplier of its own inherits its category’s.

Reward roles

Reaching a level grants its role automatically. With stacking off only the highest earned role is kept and the lower tiers are removed. A role positioned above Sylon cannot be managed, so it is skipped instead of failing the whole grant.

Global versus server levels

Server settings shape only that server. The global personal ladder and the server ranking network are always computed from raw activity and cannot be influenced by any server. Crossing a global level sends a direct message; a server crossing one notifies its owner.

Good to know

Sylon needs Manage Roles for reward roles, and the role must sit below Sylon in the hierarchy.
Level N requires 100 × N² XP, so each level takes longer than the last.
Changing the rates does not recalculate XP already earned.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change how much XP a message is worth?

Yes. XP per message, XP per voice minute, the message cooldown, the minimum message length, the daily cap and the maximum voice hours per session are all configurable per server.

Do my settings affect the global ranking?

No. Server settings only shape XP inside your server. The global personal ladder and the server ranking network are always computed from raw activity and cannot be changed by any server.

Does AFK voice count?

No. Muted, deafened and AFK time is tracked for statistics but never earns XP.

Can some members be excluded?

Yes. Any member, role or channel can be exempted, and a multiplier of 0% has the same effect for a specific role or channel.
