Moderation Suite

A complete Discord moderation toolkit — ban, kick, mute, warn and clear — with cases, logs and limits.

Overview

Sylon gives your Discord staff a full moderation toolkit with accountability built in. Every action — ban, kick, timeout, warn or bulk clear — opens a case, notifies the member by DM, and lands in a searchable log. You decide which role can use each command and how often.

How it works

1

Act

Use ban, kick, mute (timeout), warn or clear. Each command validates role hierarchy and permissions before acting.
2

Track

Actions create numbered cases with reason, moderator, duration and notes, viewable later with the case lookup.
3

Control

Per-action toggles, allowed-role gating and hourly usage limits keep power in the right hands and prevent abuse.

Key capabilities

Ban, kick, timeout, warn and bulk clear
Numbered case system with notes
Automatic DM notices to affected users
Per-action enable/disable and role gating
Hourly usage limits per moderator
Dedicated moderation log channel

Setup

1.Moderation commands work out of the box with sensible hourly limits — there is nothing to switch on.
2.Open the dashboard Moderation tab to set a log channel per action, or restrict an action to a role.
3.Adjust the hourly limit on any action if your staff needs a higher or lower ceiling.
4.Disable an individual action entirely if you handle it another way.

How it works in detail

Absent members are refused, not silently ignored

Ban, kick, mute, unmute, unban and warn all check that the target is actually reachable before doing anything. Acting on someone who already left, or a raw ID that isn’t in the server, replies with a clear "member not found" instead of quietly doing nothing or erroring.

Per-action controls

Each of the seven actions — ban, kick, mute, unmute, unban, warn, clear — has its own log channel, its own optional restricting role and its own hourly limit. Turning one off does not touch the others.

Hourly limits

Limits exist to slow down a compromised or careless staff account, not to get in the way of normal moderation. They reset every hour and are tracked per action, so heavy use of /warn does not eat into the /ban budget.

Where it appears in Discord

Every action is available as both a slash command and a prefix command using the server’s configured prefix, and both write to the same log channel.

Commands

/ban <user> [reason]Permanently ban a member from the server with an optional reason.
/kick <user> [reason]Kick a member from the server.
/mute <user> <duration> [reason]Timeout (mute) a member for a specified duration.
/unmute <user> [reason]Remove an active timeout from a member.
/unban <user_id> [reason]Remove a ban by user ID and allow the user to re-join.
/warn <user> [reason]Issue a formal warning to a member.
/clear <amount> [user]Bulk delete messages from a channel.

Good to know

Sylon needs the matching Discord permission for each action — Ban Members, Kick Members, Moderate Members, or Manage Messages for /clear.
/clear cannot delete messages older than 14 days — a Discord platform limit, not a Sylon one.
Reaching an hourly limit does not block the command; it is reported so staff know the ceiling was hit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I limit who moderates?

Yes. Each action can be gated to a specific role and given an hourly usage cap.

Are actions logged?

Every action creates a case and a log entry with the moderator, reason and timestamp.

Do users get notified?

Yes, affected users receive a DM with the action and reason where possible.
