Overview

Sylon records every join and traces it back to the invite that produced it — including vanity URLs and one-time invites that Discord deletes on use. Fake-account filters reject alt accounts, self-invites and re-joins, and optional verification only counts an invite once the new member actually interacts. Reward your top inviters with roles or a direct message automatically, and take the roles back if their count drops. Every join is recorded even while the module is off, so turning it on later still shows your full history.

Sylon keeps a snapshot of every invite's use count and compares it the moment someone joins, so the right inviter is credited — vanity URLs and expiring invites included.

Fake accounts filtered out

Minimum account age, self-invites, bot accounts and re-joins are flagged and never counted. Optional verification waits until the new member actually talks before the invite counts.

Rewards that stay honest

Grant roles or send a DM at any invite threshold. If people leave or turn out to be fake, the count drops and the reward roles are taken back automatically.

Setup

1.Open the dashboard, go to the Invites tab and enable the tracker.

2.Pick a log channel and choose whether joins are announced as plain text or as a card.

3.Tune the fake filters: minimum account age, whether rejoins count, whether self-invites count.

4.Optionally add reward roles for invite thresholds, and require interaction before a join counts.

How it works in detail

How attribution works

Sylon keeps a snapshot of every invite’s use count and compares it the moment someone joins — the invite whose counter moved is the one that was used. Vanity URLs are tracked the same way, and an invite that hit its maximum uses and disappeared is still resolved correctly.

Fake filters

A join can be flagged rather than counted: bots, someone using their own invite, an account younger than the configured minimum, or a member who had already been in the server before. Flagged joins are still recorded in full — they simply do not earn the inviter a point.

The counter

The number members see is real invites plus manual bonuses minus people who left. If an invitee leaves, the point is taken back. With verification turned on, a join only counts once the new member actually interacts, which stops mass-invite runs from paying out instantly.

Reward roles

Thresholds grant roles automatically as someone’s count climbs. If the count drops back below a threshold — because invitees left — the role is removed again, so rewards always reflect the current number rather than a peak.

Announcement stylePlain text reads like a log line and never pings anyone. The card shows the same details as fields.

Good to know

Sylon needs Manage Server to read the invite list; without it, joins cannot be attributed.

Join and leave history is recorded even while the tracker is disabled, so enabling it later still shows the past.

The plain-text announcement never mentions anyone, so a busy log channel does not ping people.

Frequently asked questions

How does the bot know who invited someone?

Discord does not report it directly, so Sylon keeps a snapshot of every invite's use counter and re-checks it the instant a member joins — the code whose counter went up is the one that was used. Vanity URLs are covered too.

How are fake invites detected?

Accounts younger than your threshold, self-invites, bot accounts and people who re-join after leaving are flagged and never counted. You can also require the new member to actually interact before the invite counts.

What happens if an invited member leaves?

The inviter's total drops automatically, and if that puts them below a reward threshold the reward role is removed — unless you turn that behaviour off.
